Video SFP Application
SMPTE proposed SDI serial link standard, in the studio environment through the 75-ohm coaxial cable to transmit uncompressed digital video, defined by the serial interface to transmit digital NTSC and PAL analog video, it is more popular name Is standard definition (SD) SDI. The data rate required to transmit SD SDI is 270 Mbps. With the emergence of high-definition (HD) video standards such as 1080i and 720p, the SMPTE 292M defines an HD SDI interface to handle higher 1.485 Gbps data rates. It uses the same 75 ohm coaxial cable. Later, the SMPTE 424M standard was again proposed, and on the same 75-ohm coaxial cable, the SDI data rate doubled to 2.97 Gbps. This standard is also known as 3-Gbps (3G) SDI, supporting 1080p and digital cinema and other higher resolution image quality
